Comedian Sammy Kioko has  expressed gratitude to Kenyans and well wishers who helped his sister, Maureen to receive further medical treatment in India.

Maureen, who runs Muthaka Fashion Designs alongside Kioko, faced pregnancy complications that required a caesarean section and subsequent health challenges that left her unable to manage her business or personal affairs.

Kioko and Maurine announced closure of their cloth line after they tried to stay afloat but it had become increasingly difficult to continue operating blaming the Machakos County Government for failing to pay Sh19 million owed to the business.

Kioko appealed to the county government to release the funds so Maureen could undergo a second surgery, he shared a video showing her arrival at the hospital, asking the public to pray for her recovery.

On Friday, November 14, Kioko shared an update post of a video of him accompanying Maureen to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, he was joined by fellow comedians Nasra, Tom Daktari, and other friends.

They said a word of prayer before Maureen was placed in a wheelchair and wheeled off towards the plane by airport attendant.

However, in A letter signed by Machakos County Solicitor Juliet Nthambi, the government argues that Sammy Kioko is not a registered supplier with Machakos County and does not appear as a director, shareholder, or contact person in any of the companies cleared to transact with the county.

After his interview on Obinna show, Kioko has received public sympathy, with many Kenyans calling for transparency in county procurement processes former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko among those who expressed willingness to intervene and help him get the required assistant.
