Media personality and digital content creator Maureen Waititu has come out strongly to defend her children and call out a persistent online troll she says has been attacking her transformation journey.

In an Instagram post, Maureen shared screenshots of a pseudo account she alleges was created solely to mock her mental health, and later, her children.

The mother of two did not hold back, saying the faceless critic crossed a line when they hurled insults at her sons.

“My kids, ugly ducklings? My babies are blessed and highly favored. I cancel every single demonic utterance upon them in the name of Jesus,” she wrote, accompanying the statement with prayer emojis.

According to Maureen, the harassment escalated after the troll failed to rattle her with personal attacks.

She framed the hostility as a reflection of the critic’s own inner turmoil rather than anything to do with her life.

“I pray that you may find enough joy and purpose in your heart and soul so you don’t find yourself wasting your precious time creating pseudo accounts to spill bile on someone who is just living their best life,” she added.

The former TV host, who has been vocal about her mental health journey in recent years, reminded fans that dredging up old wounds is pointless.

“Attacking things you heard of years ago is like criticizing an old house that I no longer live in,” she said, noting that her emotional and physical wellbeing are currently at their strongest.

While many celebrities adopt a strict “block and ignore” stance, Maureen said sometimes it is important to speak up so others in similar situations do not feel alone.

“Some people go through such situations privately and it’s important for them to know they are not alone,” she said.

She ended her message with a soft but firm note to the troll:

“Nancy, please rest and heal.”

Waititu’s post arrives at a critical juncture, coinciding with the High Court’s temporary suspension of key sections of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes (Amendment) Act, 2025.

While the government frames the law as a necessary shield against digital threats, including the exact type of harassment Waititu describes; civil society critics argue that its broad, vague language threatens to curtail freedom of speech and be weaponised against dissent.
