Newly elected Kigoma Town MP Baba Levo has kicked off his tenure with flair, gratitude, and a dose of trademark humour.
The media personality–turned–politician has been on a thanksgiving tour, rewarding supporters who stood by him throughout the campaign; and two of them just walked away with a boda boda.
The duo, famous for painting Baba Levo’s name across their bodies during roadshows and rallies, were honoured during a thanksgiving ceremony after the CCM politician clinched the parliamentary seat. But the gift came with one very Baba Levo-style disclaimer.
“Knowing you two love your drink, I advise you to get a rider so he can be paying you every day. This will prevent you from selling it or dying. We’ll have an agreement where you will fully own it after one year,” he told the two amid cheers and laughter.
The gesture forms part of Baba Levo’s broader campaign pledge to help youth access more affordable motorbikes, a necessity he says many have struggled to acquire due to high daily rental rates.
Beyond the boda boda, the MP also highlighted another project born from his campaign trail: 500 market tables made from recycled billboards and campaign materials.
These tables will be distributed to local traders who for years have been forced to sell their goods on floor mats.
With his mix of humour, community focus, and out-of-the-box solutions, Baba Levo’s early days in office are already setting the tone for a tenure that promises both entertainment and impact.
