Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, was crowned Miss Universe 2025 at a glittering event in Bangkok.

Miss Thailand, Praveenar Singh, claimed second place, followed by Miss Venezuela, Stephany Abasali, in third.

Rounding out the top five were Miss Philippines, Ma Ahtisa Manalo, and Miss Côte d’Ivoire, Olivia Yace.

Bosch’s historic win comes just weeks after a tense incident in early November, when she walked out of a pageant event after a Thai official publicly insulted her in front of fellow contestants, a moment that quickly went viral.

Nawat Itsaragrasil reportedly reprimanded Bosch for not sharing promotional posts.

When she voiced her disagreement, he allegedly called security and threatened disqualification for anyone who supported her.

Bosch left the room, joined by other contestants in solidarity, making international headlines.

According to the BBC, the fallout from the incident was swift: two judges resigned, with one alleging possible rigging in the high-profile contest. The Miss Universe Organization did not confirm these claims.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nawat issued an apology on Instagram in Thai after widespread social media condemnation.

Even Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum lauded Bosch for her courage, calling her a role model for women who stand up against aggression.

She praised Bosch for standing up to Mr. Nawat, who reportedly referred to her as a “dumbhead.”

Following her victory, Mr. Nawat posted on Instagram in Thai: “A billion words that cannot be said,” and told reporters, “As for the outcome, we leave it to the viewers at home… people everywhere can make their own assessment.”

Reactions online celebrated Bosch’s win and her principled stand. Artist Juanita wrote on Instagram, “Glad she won, proud to be Mexican, and that she stood up for herself and all women. I feel like her fate was sealed here—they had to give it to her.” Another user, Pucha Nadia, added, “This is a perfect example that Miss Universe shouldn’t be just about beauty and presentation, but about integrity and values. And she embodied exactly what was needed for this win.”
