Celebrated actor couple Andrew Smollo and Boera Bisieri are stepping into new territory as they prepare to stage their first-ever joint performance at the Kenya National Theatre on November 26.
The duo will headline “The Vows,” a raw, emotional and humorous portrayal of love in all its forms; the sweet, the painful, the chaotic and the unforgettable.
The production weaves together classic romance with the complexities of modern relationships, promising audiences a whirlwind experience of laughter, tears, fear and reflection.
For the two accomplished thespians, who have each built impressive careers on television and theatre, this marks a deeply personal milestone.
“My husband and I are going to be on stage alone for the first time! I’m scared but super excited,” Bisieri shared. “This is a twisted love story. A tragicomedy that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster through love, laughter, pain and the raw realities of modern relationships.”
The show’s director, the acclaimed Ben Tekee, says the project holds a special place in his heart.
“Some stories are too beautiful to remain untold…and this one is extra special to me. I’ve had the rare honor of not only witnessing this couple’s journey of love, but also playing a part in bringing them together,” he said. “This two-handler will take you through the highs, the heartbreaks, the laughter, and the magic of true love, performed by the very couple who lived it.”
“The Vows” is penned by seasoned writers Emmanuel Chindia and Ted Munene; the mastermind behind popular titles like Kamum and A Nurse Toto Season 3.

Smollo, widely recognised for his roles as Josiah on Kamum, appearances on Shuga Mashariki, Njoro wa Uber and Kware, also leads Andymaxe Entertainment, the production house powering the show.
Beyond the arts, he is a lawyer committed to nurturing talent among young performers.
Bisieri, known for her standout roles on Tahidi High, Njoro wa Uba and Zari, is the force behind Black Motion Art, a non-profit dedicated to amplifying Kenya’s performing arts; especially theatre.
