Barely a month after announcing their separation, Todd Tucker, estranged husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss, is seeking full custody of their two children.
Tucker, 59, filed a response to Buruss’ divorce petition, claiming that their children, Ace, 9, and Blaze, 6, currently live with him most of the time, while Buruss, 49, is frequently out of state for work.
According to US Weekly, Tucker is requesting primary physical custody and is also challenging their prenuptial agreement, alleging he was pressured to sign it without legal counsel before their 2014 wedding.
Should the prenup be invalidated, he plans to seek alimony and a full division of marital assets.
Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker’s relationship began in 2011 when they met on the set of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA), where Todd was working as a line producer.
Their romance quickly blossomed, leading to an engagement announcement in January 2013.
Despite facing significant and vocal opposition from Kandi’s mother, Mama Joyce, their bond strengthened.
They famously tied the knot in a grand, televised ceremony in April 2014, with a theme inspired by the movie Coming to America because they had met in Africa.
Throughout their 11-year marriage, the couple became known for their strong professional partnership as well as their personal life.
They built a blended family, with Kandi’s daughter Riley and Todd’s daughter Kaela from previous relationships, and they welcomed two children together: son Ace and daughter Blaze.
Their joint ventures included the popular Old Lady Gang restaurant chain, a trucking company, and a Bravo reality series, Kandi & The Gang, showcasing their work and family dynamic.
Tucker is a producer known for Don’t Bring Your Man to Atlanta (2025) and The Pass (2023), while Buruss rose to fame as a member of the multi-platinum R&B group Xscape and as a songwriter, including for Destiny’s Child’s hit single “Bills, Bills, Bills.”
