Tanzanian cosmetics entrepreneur Jenifer Jovin, popularly known as Niffer, has sparked excitement online after openly hinting that she could be relocating to Kenya; moved by the overwhelming love and support she received from Kenyans during her recent legal ordeal in Tanzania.
Taking to her social media platforms, the 26-year-old businesswoman posed a heartfelt question to her followers, asking for recommendations on where she could possibly settle in Kenya.
“Which place in Kenya is very calm and peaceful to live in? I could relocate there. Thank you for everything. I mean EVERYTHING,” she wrote.
In a video that has since gone viral, an emotional Niffer went a step further, expressing her gratitude in a mix of Kiswahili and Sheng while thumping her chest in appreciation.
“Manze mimi ningetaka kuwaambia hivi, mko hapa kwa moyo. Nimeamua kujipea jina yangu saa hii ni Niffer Gathoni Panthelo… I love you here,” she said, captioning the clip with: “Sending lots of love to Kenyans” alongside the Kenyan flag and a love emoji.
Niffer also acknowledged the business goodwill she has been receiving from Kenya, saying she does not take the support lightly and remains deeply thankful to those who stood with her when it mattered most.
Her emotional message comes after she was freed from detention following the withdrawal of a case against her by the Tanzanian Director of Public Prosecutions.
On December 3, 2025, Senior Resident Magistrate Aaron Lyamuya ordered the release of Niffer alongside co-accused Mika Lucas Chavala, after State Attorney Titus Aron informed the court that the DPP had no intention of pursuing the matter further.
“The court agrees with the request from the prosecution as submitted; therefore, I hereby release the two accused persons,” ruled Magistrate Lyamuya.
The case stemmed from investigation under Section 92(1) of the Criminal Procedure Act, where Niffer had been accused of encouraging resistance against state authorities.
Prosecutors claimed she incited public unrest after posting a video dancing to a satirical song titled “Rais Samia Maandamano Ya Nywi Nywi Nywi,” which allegedly mocked President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
At the height of the political tension surrounding the arrests, Kenyan netizens rallied strongly behind the young entrepreneur. Her name trended across platforms as users demanded her release and condemned the arrest of civilians during Tanzania’s election-related unrest.
