Mufasa: The Lion King
This musical drama was one of the most talked-about films online this year, thrusting actor Aaron Pierre, who plays Mufasa, into the spotlight.
The sequel follows Rafiki as he tells Kiara the story of Mufasa’s past — from being a lost cub to being adopted by a prince named Taka, who later becomes Scar. Although the two grow up as brothers, their bond is shattered after an evil lion named Kiros destroys their home.
Frankenstein
This two-hour film has also been nominated for the 2026 Academy Awards. The story begins aboard the Royal Danish Navy ship Horisont, which becomes trapped in ice. Captain Anderson rescues Victor Frankenstein, a renowned but wounded surgeon, and brings him on board.
Soon after, the crew is attacked by a mysterious Creature demanding Victor’s surrender. After the Creature is cast into the icy waters, Victor recounts how his obsession with curing death led him to create the Creature from human body parts.
Horrified by his creation, Victor attempts to destroy it, but the Creature survives and escapes. While hiding in the woods, it learns to speak and read by observing a kind family, but repeated attacks from fearful humans turn it bitter and vengeful.
Avatar: Fire and Ash
A sequel to the 2022 film Avatar: The Way of Water, this chapter finds Jake and Neytiri mourning the loss of their son, Neteyam, after joining the Metkayina sea clan.
Their fragile peace is shattered by a new threat — the Ash People, also known as the Mangkwan clan. This violent volcanic tribe, led by Varang, joins forces with the villain Quaritch, making the war on Pandora even more dangerous for Jake’s family.
Zootopia 2
This sequel reunites police partners Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they team up with a snake named Gary to track down a hidden journal. Their investigation reveals that snakes were the true founders of Zootopia, but a group of lions and lynxes stole the credit, casting snakes as villains in the city’s history.

In a desperate attempt to save him, Elphaba transforms him into a Scarecrow. Realising she can never truly win, she ultimately chooses to disappear.
