Tanzanian star Shilole cheats death in road accident: “Nimemwona Mungu kwa macho”

Tanzanian musician Zena Yusuf Mohammed, popularly known as Shilole, has expressed immense gratitude after surviving a serious car accident that left her vehicle badly damaged.

The singer shared the frightening experience on Instagram, reassuring fans that she walked away safely despite the severity of the crash.

In a video she posted, the car appeared heavily damaged, hinting at the force of the impact.

While Shilole did not disclose the exact circumstances surrounding the accident, her focus was on thankfulness, describing her survival as nothing short of a miracle.

In an emotional message, Shilole wrote, “Nimemwona Mungu kwa macho yangu. Baada ya ajali nimesimama leo kwa neema yake. Sifa na utukufu ni zake milele, kila pumzi ninayovuta leo ni ushuhuda juu yake.”

The musician also thanked her family, close friends, and loved ones for their support, expressing appreciation for the calls, messages, and visits she received during the difficult time.

Fans and fellow musicians quickly flooded the comment section with messages of relief, thanksgiving, and well-wishes.

Popular musician Chino-Kidd7 wrote, “Pole sana my sister,” while Ecejay commented, “Mungu ni mwema, pole sana Zuwena.”

Shamiramshangama added, “Pole sana dada. Mungu akupee nafuu ya haraka. Inshallah.”

Shilole is a prominent Tanzanian musician and actress who has become one of the country’s most influential female celebrities.

She is widely recognised for her contributions to the Bongo Flava genre, specialising in R&B and Zouk, and was the first female artist in Tanzania to reach one million followers on Instagram.

Beyond her entertainment career, she is a successful businesswoman who founded the Shishi Foods restaurant chain, which operates in major cities like Dar es Salaam and Dodoma.

In the world of politics, she has been widely seen in recent years as a high-profile mobilizer for the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

As early as 2015, she was appointed by the party to leverage her massive fan base to campaign for the late President John Pombe Magufuli.

Her political engagement continued into the 2025 electoral cycle, where she served as a key figure in the “digital battlefield,” using her platform to rally support for President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

During recent campaign events, Shilole appeared at major rallies, such as those held at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma, frequently wearing the party’s signature green colors and advocating for the incumbent administration.
