Sammy Boy Kenya defends himself after viral fall at IShowSpeed meet: “Not ashamed”

Kenyan social media personality and forex trader Samwel Ondieki, popularly known as Sammy Boy Kenya, has broken his silence after a viral video showed him being pushed and falling while trying to get near American YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed during his visit to Nairobi.

The incident happened on Sunday near the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), where fans and content creators had gathered to meet IShowSpeed.

Excitement ran high, with people holding up phones and security struggling to control the crowd.

In the chaos, Sammy Boy was shoved, lost his balance, and fell to the ground, briefly disappearing from view. Another content creator, Jaymoh Decin, was also caught in the commotion.

The video quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions online. Some mocked Sammy Boy, accusing him of seeking attention, while others criticised the aggressive crowd.

Instagram user hilary08 wrote, “A whole adult be chasing a 20-year-old, are you sane? Spare yourselves embarrassment.” Wesley_daya asked, “Does this guy have girlfriends? Seeing your man in such a situation for a fellow man.”

Responding to the online chatter, Sammy Boy said he was not embarrassed.

“I’m not even ashamed. Kidogo pale nilianguka. I was actually checking my livestream and wasn’t fully aware of what was happening. This guy was not okay with how the crowd was moving, he pushed, and I fell. Nisawa, which is okay,” he said.

Based in Nairobi, Sammy Boy is a well-known musician and forex trader with a large social media following.

He owns several high-end cars, runs multiple businesses, and claims to have become a millionaire at 21, making him one of the city’s most influential young figures.

The incident has also sparked wider discussions about crowd control and influencer culture, especially during visits by international celebrities.

Despite the criticism, Sammy Boy continues to post confidently online, treating the fall as a minor setback.
