Popular internet star Kai Cenat quits streaming, debuts fresh fashion line ‘Vivet’

Popular American internet personality Kai Cenat has announced that he is stepping away from streaming as he embarks on a new chapter focused on fashion and creative exploration.

In a 23-minute YouTube video titled “I quit,” posted on Tuesday, January 13, the 24-year-old revealed his decision while unveiling his new clothing line, Vivet.

Cenat explained that the move was driven by a period of deep self-reflection and a desire to expand beyond being known solely as a streamer.

“I feel like sometimes people need to self-reflect and take a step back from the broad perspective of what their life has been,” he said. “I believe there is more to the world than what is much greater than myself. The energy and passion to want to do more and create is within me. That’s why I quit.”

Cenat hinted that his growing ambitions had begun to clash with his streaming career, noting that he often felt limited by being recognised for only one thing.

He also shared a personal conversation with his mother, during which he opened up about struggling with self-doubt despite his success.

“I’ve achieved so much and knocked down goals I’ve always wanted to do, but my mindset is filled with self-doubt,” he said. “I’m not depressed, I’m not sad — I’m just dealing with a lot of self-doubt.”

The video also documents Cenat’s two-week trip to Italy, where he immersed himself in fashion and design, visiting workshops, learning about materials, and participating in the clothing-making process.

He expressed a particular passion for sewing and craftsmanship, offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the development of Vivet.

During his stay, Cenat met renowned stylist Law Roach, known for working with celebrities such as Zendaya and Kerry Washington. Roach encouraged him to embrace risk and let go of fear as he pursues his creative vision.

“I quit overthinking. I quit staying in my head about the goals I have and whether they’re going to work or not,” Cenat said. “I want to push limits to see what I can truly create in life.”

The announcement follows previous statements in which Cenat spoke openly about his mental health, explaining that constant streaming had caused him to feel disconnected from reality and from close friends and family.

“I needed to take a step back and fully reset,” he said, adding that prioritising his well-being had helped him regain balance.

Social media reactions to the announcement were largely supportive, with many fans viewing the decision as a natural evolution.

“A new chapter of his life is all I see,” one Instagram user wrote, while another noted that such reflection often comes as people approach their mid-twenties.
