Popstar Meghan Trainor and her husband Daryl Sabara have welcomed their third child, a daughter named Mikey Moon Trainor, into their family of five.
The couple, who already share two young sons, Riley and Barry, welcomed their daughter with the help of a surrogate.
Taking to Instagram, the All About That Bass hitmaker shared her excitement, “Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate. We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible.”
She added, “We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family. We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name. We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all.”
Trainor, 32, has been open about her desire for a big family.
In a 2021 interview with PEOPLE, she said, “I’m ready for three more kids!” She and Sabara, who married in 2018, have sons Riley, 4, and Barry, 2.
The Dear Future Mama author has often spoken about how motherhood has shaped her life and career.
“Each kid’s going to bring a new version of me that I think is going to be badass — so I need four, at least!”
She also shared her l ongtime wish to have a daughter.
Reflecting on her journey, Trainor said, “Where I am right now is far beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of. I always wanted a family. Check. Now I need some daughters. But I never thought I could be a pop star because I didn’t believe in myself. Now 19-year-old Meghan putting out All About That Bass is stoked; she’s so proud… It took 10 years to become brave, but I’m finally thriving.”
She added that motherhood has shifted her career perspective, “When I became a mom, my career had a whole new life. I had a whole reboot, and it’s because my kids made me want to be the best version of me … I’m not peaking. I’ve just begun.”
Trainor is set to release her new album in April and embark on a tour in June.
Excited fans and fellow celebrities, including Kris Jenner, have sent congratulatory messages online.
Jenner wrote on Instagram, “CONGRATULATIONS!!”
Another, Jill, added, “Oh my goodness Meghan!! I love this!! Congratulations!!”
