Rapper Nicki Minaj has doubled down on her support for US President Donald Trump, publicly declaring herself his “number one fan” during a high-profile meeting held on Wednesday.

Speaking briefly at the Trump Accounts Summit, the Anaconda hitmaker told the audience that her loyalty to the president was unwavering.

“I am probably the President’s number one fan. And that is not going to change anytime soon,” she said.

Earlier, Minaj was seen holding hands with President Trump, a moment that quickly circulated online and fuelled further discussion about her growing alignment with his administration. During her remarks, the Grammy-nominated rapper also addressed critics who have attacked her on social media over her political stance.

“The hate and what people have to say does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more,” she said. “We are not going to let them get away with bullying him and the smear campaign. It’s not going to work. He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen?”

The summit, attended by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trump supporters, focused on “Trump Accounts,” officially known as Section 530A accounts. According to CNBC, the initiative is designed to help American citizens save and build wealth from an early age through government-backed investment accounts.

Minaj praised the programme, saying it could be life-changing for young people.

“If I had access to something like this, my whole life would have been different,” she said.

The Pink Friday rapper also pledged to donate between Sh19.3 million ($150,000) and Sh38.6 million ($300,000) to help her fans, known as the Barbz, open their own accounts, according to the New York Post.

Born Onika Tanya Maraj, Minaj has been increasingly vocal in her support for Trump’s government, a position that has drawn significant backlash online. When she announced her invitation to the summit on X, she described the initiative as a form of “paying it forward” and emphasised the importance of early financial literacy for children.

Her praise even prompted a light-hearted moment from President Trump, who joked about wanting to copy her signature long nails, drawing laughter from the audience.

After the event, Minaj posted a photo on X of what she described as a Trump “Gold Card” reportedly valued at Sh128.9 million ($1 million).

She claimed the card grants lawful permanent resident status under the EB-1 or EB-2 visa categories. Captioning the image “Welp,” she later added that she was finalising her US citizenship paperwork, crediting President Trump and supporters who had petitioned on her behalf.

The post triggered mixed reactions online. While some fans praised her access and influence, others questioned her motivations.

Several social media users speculated that her public support for Trump could be linked to efforts to rehabilitate the public image of her husband, Ken Petty, and her brother, Jelani Maraj, both of whom are registered sex offenders following past convictions.

One Instagram user, Taylor McRae, commented, “How else can she secure a pardon for her husband and brother?” Another, Carmen Comedian, wrote, “Thought this was a comedy sketch for the first second.”

On X, a user named Maile questioned the circumstances surrounding the Gold Card, writing, “So you didn’t even pay for it? You secured your safety while throwing your people under the bus.”
