The buildup to Super Bowl LX is typically dominated by talk of preparation, pressure, and legacy.
This year, however, the focus has unexpectedly shifted to New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs just days before the biggest game of the season.
Diggs, 32, is facing fresh legal trouble after a new lawsuit added to an already complicated off-field situation.
According to court documents obtained and as reported by TMZ on Friday, February 6, Diggs is being sued for defamation, civil conspiracy, and related claims by a man who says he previously worked for the NFL star.
The plaintiff alleges that in July 2024, Diggs asked him to coordinate the transport of the receiver’s Ferrari from Miami to New York and then to Houston. While the vehicle was in Houston, the man claims it was stolen.
The lawsuit states that law enforcement later determined the Ferrari was taken by third parties in what was described as a “sophisticated theft.”
Despite that finding, the former associate alleges Diggs told others within their shared social circles that the man himself was responsible for stealing the car. The plaintiff strongly denies the accusation, noting that he was never arrested or charged in connection with the incident.
He claims the alleged statements caused serious harm to his concierge and consulting business and led to multiple confrontations. According to the filing, individuals connected to Diggs allegedly approached him at restaurants in Houston and Miami and even came to his home demanding the return of gifts Diggs had previously given him.
Most notably, the lawsuit alleges the plaintiff was attacked by two men associated with Diggs in December 2025 at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami. The man claims Diggs’ brother, Trevon, witnessed the incident but did not intervene.
This is not the first time Diggs who is currently dating Cardi B has faced legal scrutiny this season. He is also involved in a separate case that includes a felony strangulation charge and a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an alleged December incident involving a private chef. Diggs’ attorney, David Meier, has denied those allegations.
Despite the off-field distractions, Diggs and the Patriots are set to face the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX early monday morning.
