IShowSpeed hails Kenya as top destination after record-breaking tour: “Crazy!”

Renowned American streamer IShowSpeed has crowned Kenya as his top pick among the nations visited during his “Speed Does Africa” tour.

Born Darren Watkins Jr., the internet personality asserted in an online chat on February 12 that the massive reception he received in Nairobi left him totally speechless.

“My visit to Kenya was just crazy. I couldn’t believe how many people came out for me. I think about 30,000 people showed up in the city just to watch me stream and be part of the experience. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many people before. Just to think that I could pull that many in Africa… I was astonished,” he said.

The energetic creator visited more than 20 African nations during his journey, starting in the south and moving through East and North Africa before concluding in West Africa.

As of January 2026, the Kenyan leg of the tour set new records for subscriber growth and interaction.

During his Nairobi broadcast, the 21-year-old creator toured city landmarks and streets, earning over 9 million views and surpassing projections of 6.2 million.

By comparison, his 21st birthday celebration in Lagos drew 8.7 million views, while his stop in Ghana, where he revealed his ancestry, garnered 4.8 million.

South Africa and Rwanda followed with 4.9 million and 4.5 million views, respectively.

Kenyans on social media expressed immense pride in the visit.

Emmanuel Motelin on X noted that many viewers now plan to visit Kenya after seeing its hospitality.

Another user, Kaka, added, “Kenya receive your flowers, officially!” while Great Otatei chimed in, “Internet said ‘he’s just a streamer’ meanwhile Kenya threw him a festival.”
