Barack Obama shuts divorce rumours in romantic snap with Michelle: “Forever dance partner”

Former US President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama set social media abuzz after sharing a romantic moment on Valentine’s Day.

Michelle looked elegant in a strapless black leather dress as she danced gracefully with her husband, who wore a black suit.

Barack posted the photo on February 15, accompanied by a sentimental caption: “Celebrated Valentine’s Day with my forever dance partner. Love you, Miche!”

In the romantic scene, the former first couple stands alongside a giant heart-shaped floral arrangement made of colourful roses.

They smiled warmly at each other, and Michelle lovingly closed her eyes as Barack leaned in to kiss her cheek.

Popular fashion site InStyle termed Michelle’s fashion choice as “fitting for a romantic date night.”

The knee-length bodycon dress featured front and back pockets. She styled her hair in braids with a middle part, accessorising with long silver earrings that reached her shoulders and several silver rings.

She completed the look with colourful nail polish, a dark smoky eye and natural-toned lipstick.

The post, however, came a day after Obama addressed divorce rumours during a February 14 interview with podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen.

Speaking about his political future, the former president said his role is now more limited than during his time in office.

“First of all, I’m not a politician anymore, and I can’t be, right? I mean, I guess technically I could run for, you know, city council or something, but I’m not in elected office. I don’t have levers of power. I’m term-limited out. And by the way, I believe in the Constitution, and also, I believe in my marriage, and Michelle would divorce me if I even could run again,” he said.

Social media users reacted warmly to the Valentine’s post.

One Facebook user, Jesse McKinnon, wrote, “They seem to actually like each other versus orange and handmaiden.”

Another user, Christian, added, “Power is impressive. But loyalty and consistency over decades? That’s legacy.”
