Willy Paul says he feels lost, hints at gospel comeback

Kenyan singer Willy Paul has sent social media talking after hinting at a possible return to gospel music.

The artist, popularly known as Pozze, shared a reflective message on his social media pages that left fans speculating about his next move.

Having risen to fame in the early 2010s as a gospel sensation before crossing over to secular music, the singer suggested he may be feeling drawn back to his roots.

“I feel lost, don’t know why, maybe it’s time to go back home. Where it all started. I belong to the church; I should be spreading the word,” he wrote.

For many supporters, the post signalled what could be a full circle moment in his career.

Willy Paul built his early brand on gospel hits that dominated radio and church events across the country.

Songs such as Tam Tam featuring Size 8, Sijafika, Kwa Vile and Rabuka cemented his status as one of Kenya’s most promising gospel stars. His energetic performances, catchy hooks and bold faith-driven lyrics made him a household name and a youth favourite.

His eventual shift to secular music sparked sustained debate, drawing criticism from sections of the gospel fraternity even as others embraced his artistic evolution.

Following his latest post, several gospel artistes flooded his comment section with encouragement.

“Wewe poze ebu rudi kwa Yesu……” wrote Size 8, who now goes by @size8reborn.

“Bro natambua mziki yako but imagine this is still one of my favorites. Zidi,” added @Holydavemuthengi.

“Uko wapi Pozze tuanze na Collabo. Karibu nyumbani,” commented Janet Otieno.

“Finally this boy my small brother is waking up @willy.paul.msafi. East west home is the best!! I’M SO HEEEEPPPYYY,” wrote Benachi.

Other fans echoed similar sentiments, with some declaring “Welcome home bro.”

But not everyone was ready to let Pozze walk away from the secular scene without a playful protest.

One cheeky netizen lightened the mood by asking: “Na sherehe tuimbe nini???? Gospel achia @guardianangelglobal,” referencing fellow gospel singer Guardian Angel.

The comment quickly drew laughs from followers, highlighting the balancing act Willy Paul has long faced between the pulpit and the party.
