Legendary pop star, Britney Spears, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) in Ventura County, California.

This incident marks a rather troubling phase for the 44-year-old singer, who has long battled public scrutiny over her personal life and choices.

According to TMZ, California Highway Patrol received reports of a car being driven recklessly.

Officers pulled over the vehicle and identified Spears as the only occupant showing clear signs of being under the influence. She underwent field sobriety tests, leading to her arrest for DUI involving alcohol.

Spears was transported to a hospital for a blood draw, with no injuries reported. She was booked at Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and released under a cite-and-release process, without bail.

Her BMW was impounded, and chemical test results remain pending as the investigation continues. Court records list her next appearance for May 4, 2026.

TMZ first broke the story, quickly confirmed by outlets like People and Variety. The singer deactivated her Instagram account post-release; her final post cryptically read, “representing frag be careful friends when with the queen of hearts.”

Her representative called the incident “completely inexcusable,” offering no further comment.

Fans expressed concern online, linking it to Spears’ history of conservatorship struggles and recent restraining order against a stalker.

This DUI arrests comes just after she sued and won a legal victory when she was granted a permanent restraining order against a Louisiana man who randomly showed up at her Los Angeles area home after allegedly sharing several “disturbing social media posts.”

Reports further described her as “very emotional and regretful.” This arrest revives memories of Spears’ 2007 paparazzi-chased incidents amid serial mental health challenges.

Though, she is now free from conservatorship since 2021, she recently secured a payday from her memoir, yet faces ongoing privacy battles.
