A woman in her 30s has been arrested after allegedly opening fire outside the Beverly Hills home of global pop star and billionaire Rihanna, sending shockwaves through the upscale neighbourhood.
According to reports by CBS News, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of gunfire.
Police say the suspect parked a white Tesla outside the singer’s luxury property in Beverly Hills before allegedly firing seven gunshots toward the residence and then speeding away.
Authorities quickly launched a search and later tracked the vehicle to the Sherman Oaks Galleria — roughly eight miles from the scene; where the woman was taken into custody without resistance.
Investigators confirmed that no one was injured during the shooting.
However, officers recovered seven assault rifle casings from the scene, underscoring the seriousness of the incident. The firearm believed to have been used in the attack has also been seized and is now being processed as evidence.
Police further confirmed that the property targeted in the shooting belongs to Rihanna, the Fenty business mogul and international music star.
It remains unclear whether Rihanna or members of her family were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
Aerial footage aired by news channels showed several bullet holes in the gate of the lavish estate, while yellow police tape sealed off the street as detectives combed through the area for clues.
So far, neither Rihanna nor her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, has publicly commented on the incident.
Born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, the superstar first rose to global fame in the early 2000s with chart-topping hits such as Umbrella and Diamonds.
Beyond music, she has built a massive business empire through her Fenty companies, which include successful ventures in cosmetics, fashion and lingerie.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, who began dating in 2020, now share three children together.
According to Forbes, Rihanna’s fortune is estimated at over $1.4 billion (about Sh180.9 billion), making her one of the wealthiest female entertainers in the world.
News of the shooting quickly spread online, with fans expressing shock and relief that no one was harmed.
One Instagram user, Kuntera, wrote: “Oh hell nah, DON’T PLAY ABOUT THAT ONE RIGHT THERE.”
Another user, Selam, added: “I’m so glad no one was hurt.”
Police say the suspect remains in custody as investigators work to establish the motive behind the attack.
