In a surprising turn at a rally in Hebron on March 11, US President Donald Trump endorsed American boxer and social media influencer Jake Paul for a future political office. Speaking to a crowd at Verst Logistics, Trump predicted that the 29-year-old would soon enter politics and pledged his full support.
“I’m going to make a prediction that you will be, in the not-too-distant future, running for political office. You have my complete and total endorsement,” Trump said.
Paul, who has long been a supporter of Trump, joined the President on stage to address attendees. In his remarks, the influencer credited Trump for teaching him “courage” and urged the crowd to remain steadfast in their beliefs.
“What Mr. Trump has taught me is courage. We never back down from a fight, even if they’re much bigger than you, much, much bigger than you. I feel all the local Kentuckians feel the same way. You guys have that fight. You guys have that swag,” Paul said.
Raised just a few hours from Hebron, Paul also praised American manufacturing, noting the importance of thriving factories like the one hosting the event. “We need more factories like this thriving for the country. And I know he is going to be the one to bring that here to us,” he said.
Highlighting lessons from his father, Paul added, “My dad taught me to fight and all of our voices matter in America. I’m never afraid to speak the truth.”
The event concluded on a light-hearted note, as Trump and Paul filmed a short social media clip performing the former President’s iconic “YMCA” dance together. The video quickly went viral, showing the camaraderie between the former President and the social media star.
