Drama as Majembe, Mbavu Destroyer exchange jabs during ‘Vurugu’ press conference

Drama erupted at the press conference for the “Vurugu” fight series when rivals Majembe and Mbavu turned verbal jabs into a full-blown brawl.

The confrontation, according to a video seen by TNX Africa, started when Majembe walked onto the premises and quickly ascended to the podium to weigh in with the already present Mbavu, who was shirtless.

While on it, Majembe positioned himself in a towering manner to challenge his opponent.

The two fighters lunged at each other amid taunts and shoving before security and organisers intervened.

The crowd’s cheers only amplified the tension, turning the standoff into an electric spectacle.

The incident, captured on video and widely shared, has supercharged anticipation for the April 4 showdown.

Organised by media personality Oga Obinna through his platform, Vurugu promises a star-studded lineup of Kenyan boxing talent, positioning it as one of the country’s most talked-about fight events in years.

The Majembe-Mbavu clash, already billed as a marquee bout, now feels like a disarmed grenade ready to explode.

Social media lit up with reactions. YouTuber @AnnstaciaNgovo-e2l declared, “Team Majembe to the world oyeee!” @PharaohDecrazy noted, “Kweni ni mimi nimenotice watu wengi wanashika majembe,” highlighting the crowd’s favouritism.

Meanwhile, @shantellshantell-06j lamented, “Weuh ni mbaya bet yangu kwa Mbavu usiniagushe,” capturing the heartbreak of bettors backing the underdog.

Adding fuel to the fire, a popular betting company has introduced a car as the grand prize, dramatically raising the stakes in the hyped feud.

Corporate backing, welcomed by fans, serves as a morale booster and draws aspiring fighters aiming to secure future spots.

With trash talk escalating into physical confrontation, Vurugu is no longer just a fight night. It has become a cultural phenomenon, blending street hype, high rewards, and raw passion.

Fans and bettors alike are counting down the days to April 4, when the Majembe-Mbavu showdown promises fireworks inside and outside the ring.
