Mugithi singer Samidoh has hinted at possible plans of vying for the Ol joro Orok, Nyandarua County parliamentary seat in the 2027 general elections.
Samidoh, a close ally of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, has aligned himself with the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).
His food donations to Nyandarua residents affected by wildlife invasions and recent social media posts using the hashtag #Oljoro_Orok001 fuelled the rumours.
His latest meeting with opposition politician Fred Matiang’i further signalled his growing interest in stepping into the political arena.
On his Instagram page, Samidoh posted a photo of him arguably showing his interest in politics, he encouraged Nyandarua county residents to register as voters.
‘’Democracy works when you show up. One registration today, a lifetime of impact tomorrow,” he captioned the image.
DCP party is reportedly focusing on youth empowerment, intending to reserve a quarter of party tickets for young candidates and targeting political representation from county to national levels.
Samidoh, currently in the US, has been heavily implying that he will vie for the parliamentary seat.
