The lavish wedding of online personality Ronnie Kiprono and his partner, Terry Mwendwa has sparked widespread attention on social media for its open display of wealth and sheer opulence.
In viral footage seen by TNX Africa, President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto were among high-profile guests who attended the ceremony as Kiprono and Terry exchanged vows at the Karen Blixen Museum in Nairobi.
Senior government officials and other notable figures, including Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Belgut MP Nelson Koech and UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar, also attended the ceremony, among others.
The wedding, held on April 11, was marked by grandeur from start to finish.
Ahead of the ceremony, the couple and guests arrived in a convoy of luxury vehicles, including several Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons, which lined up at the Karen venue.
The groom, Ronnie Kiprono, wore a jungle green suit paired with white trousers and a matching bow tie. His bride, Terry Mwendwa, looked elegant in a white, backless beaded wedding gown.
President Ruto addressed the couple and later posed for a group photo with First Lady Rachel Ruto, the newlyweds and their parents.
He wore a mauve striped suit, cream trousers, a striped shirt and a white fedora hat, while the First Lady donned a blue and yellow floral dress paired with maroon heels.
“When Ronnie and Terry came with their invitation letter, I saw two young, bright and beautiful souls. I am very happy to be part of this occasion as you find your family. A nation is built from the firm foundation of families,” Ruto said during his speech.
The couple also received a painting of a home as a gift.
Ronnie Kiprono is a digital content creator and a prominent figure in Kenya’s drag racing scene, where he frequently participates in high-speed trials behind the wheel of his Nissan GT-R R35, christened ‘KIP’.
Terry Mwendwa is a financial services professional. The couple drew mixed reactions online following the ceremony.
On X, Koske Felix wrote, “I wish them love, happiness, and God’s blessings as they embark on this new chapter.” Another user, Kate, added, “Congratulations to them.”
“Wishing Ronnie and Terry a lifetime of happiness. May their love remain strong through every season, and may each day together be even more meaningful than the last,” wrote Sen Allan Chesang.
