Shiksha Arora was crowned Positive Impact Content Creator of the Year at the Kalasha International Film and TV Awards 2026 ceremony held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in a moment that felt as electric as it was emotional.

The announcement, presented by President William Ruto, sent a ripple of excitement through the room, with applause and celebratory screams erupting as her name was called.

Walking to the podium visibly overwhelmed, Arora delivered a heartfelt speech that captured the essence of her work and the community behind it.

“Wow, am so shaking….. this is an absolute honour. This award may carry my name but it really belongs to everyone whose stories we’ve been telling, the lives that we’ve touched together with Kameivanakenya… I have learnt that real impact isn’t about going viral, its about creating something meaningful…. My content is about telling the stories of real life people, Kenyans with real problems and in turn we transform their lives. To everyone who has supported this movement online, offline, thank you so very much. Am only up here because of you,” Shiksha said.

“And also I have heard we are going home with some money. Also today I pledge to be giving away 200,000 of what I’ll be winning to someone who needs it and I’ll be changing their life. Thank you so very much,” she added.

Her words, raw and unfiltered, drew sustained applause from the audience, particularly her spontaneous pledge to donate Sh200,000 from her winnings, reinforcing the impact-driven ethos that earned her the award.

The Kalasha Awards, organised by the Kenya Film Commission, remain the country’s most prestigious celebration of film and television excellence.
