The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged citizens to
expect more rain across the country for the next seven days.

In the latest weather forecast, Met said that during this period, isolated heavy rainfall events are expected over some parts of the Highlands
West and East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi, Lake Victoria Basin,
Southeastern lowlands and North-eastern Kenya.

In the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria
Basin and the Rift Valley, morning rains are expected over few places, giving
way to sunny intervals.

“Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to
occur over several places. Night showers are expected over a few places,
occasionally spreading to several places,” Met said.

This region covers Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya,
Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot,
Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori and Narok counties.

Turkana and Samburu counties will experience morning rains
as well as afternoon and night showers.

Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu,
Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi counties will be cloudy with light rains
in the morning.

“Afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are
likely to occur over few places occasionally spreading to several places.”

Morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers and
thunderstorms are likely to occur over a few places in Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir,
Garissa and Isiolo counties.

Mornings are likely to be cloudy, with light rains over a few
places, giving way to sunny intervals with afternoon and night showers and
thunderstorms likely to occur over a few places in Machakos, Kitui, Makueni,
Kajiado and Taita-Taveta Counties as well as the inland parts of Tana River.

Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties, as well as the
coastal parts of Tana-River County, will experience morning, afternoon and night
showers over a few places.
