Two Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) from the  Emurua Dikiir constituency are demanding the arrest of the area MP, Johanna Ngeno, whom they accuse of allegedly sponsoring a gang known as “G12” in the subcounty.

Ilkerin Ward MCA Ezekiel Kosgei and his Mogondo counterpart, Kipsang Mibei, have threatened unspecified actions if their demands are not met.

Kosgei has also accused the government of enabling Ngeno’s alleged misconduct.

Their statements come just a day after violent clashes between two rival groups—one identifying itself as “G12” and another, resulting in serious injuries to several youths.

The confrontation in Emurua Dikiir Town left 12 youths with severe injuries.

Victims, along with the concerned MCAs, claim that G12 operates as a political gang, harassing locals for months to settle political rivalries in the subcounty.

“Resorting to violence is a sign of immaturity and demonstrates unpreparedness for leadership. The subcounty is rich in resources and educated individuals; such ugly scenes will not take us forward,” Mibei said.

In response, Ngeno dismissed the accusations of his involvement with the G12 gang and criticized the two MCAs for trying to gain a political advantage by invoking his name.

He urged politicians to practice mature politics and avoid dragging others into their conflicts.

“I have noticed the two leaders calling for my arrest following the violence in Emurua Dikiir Town after the youth clashes. In such situations, the truth is often the first casualty.”

“Opportunistic politicians attempt to tarnish their opponents’ names. I believe in mature politics and freedom of expression, regardless of the political situation,” Ngeno stated.
