President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki
said the country is reaping big from sound economic policies implemented by the
government the last two years that have set it on the right track to
prosperity.

Speaking on Wednesday during the second day of the
development tour of Narok County, President Ruto said socio-economic
interventions rolled out have borne fruit, accelerating implementation of key
projects across the country.

“We have stabilized the economy and now we have adequate
funds to develop the country. That is why we are reviving roads, expanding
electricity connection, and building markets across the country,” President
said.

During the visit, the President accompanied by Deputy
President, launched the tarmacking of Shartuka-Njipship-Olchobosei-Abosi-Gorgor
Road and kicked off Narok County last-mile connectivity project targeting 15,
000 households and also issued title deeds for Oloonkolin residents in Emurua
Dikirr Constituency.

In Narok South, the Head of State, launched 28km
Sogoo-Melelo-Ololung’a Road and laid foundation stone for Amalo Sub-County
Level 4 Hospital at Sogoo.

In Narok West, he launched construction of
Ngoswani-Morijo Road and inspected the construction of the Deputy County
Commissioner’s office. The President also issued titled deeds to hundreds of
residents of Enkoireroi-Olderkesi and broke ground for Sekenani Bead Production
Centre in the constituency.

The President also ordered repairing of Narok-Sekenani Road
which is the main route to Maasai Mara.

“In our development plan, we have ensured Narok County is at
the centre of it. It will not be left behind,” Head of State assured.

The Deputy President said the President will not be
distracted but will ensure every part of the country gets its fair share of
development.

“We are focused on delivery of our manifesto agenda and
won’t be diverted by people focused on plunging the country into early
campaigns. For accelerated development, let’s unite. Narok is diverse and we
want to see everyone United,” DP said.

Presently, the Government is investing Sh2 billion for eight
critical new roads in Narok County meant to open up the county to economic
development and increase tourist visits to Maasai Mara Game Reserve, one of the
country’s main tourism centres.

It has also invested Sh2.5 billion for over 296 last-mile
electricity connectivity projects that target connecting 14, 045 new
beneficiaries.

“As Deputy President, I’ll assist the President to track the
progress of all the projects launched here. We want to make sure all the
projects commenced are completed on time and our people benefit from them as
soon as possible,” DP declared.

The President said the broad-based government has provided a
conducive environment for the nation’s economic growth and rolling out of
nationwide development geared at improving the lives of every Kenyan.

Kindiki said it is time to be laser-focused for there is
a lot to be achieved in service delivery and countrywide development. He said
divisive, self-centered politics must be avoided for the country to move
forward.

“We must prioritiSe development because there is a lot of
development we have delivered and many more to deliver. This is what the
President is focused on. It can’t be politics from January to December, from
one election to another. We must serve the people first then politics at the
right time,” DP urged.
