President William Ruto now says that he will work with courageous leaders, and not politicians, who believe in convenience in his quest to transform the
country.
Speaking during the handing over of the Mukuru affordable
housing on Tuesday, Ruto said that he will lead the transformation from the
front.
The President insisted that he shares no ambition with tribal
leaders who only believe in regressive politics.
“I will continue to lead from the front as we transform this
nation. I will work with courageous leaders who believe in the transformation of Kenya, not mere politicians who believe in convenience, who believe in nothing,
retrogressive politics. We don’t share ambition with the tribalists, we don’t
share ambitions with the haters, and we don’t share ambition with people who believe
in the disunity of our nation,” he said.
Ruto insisted on working with leaders who believe in the broad-based government that brings all Kenyans together.
He particularly praised former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for
agreeing to work with him for the unity of the country, despite being his main
challenger in the 2022 presidential elections.
The Head of State reiterated that when he campaigned on the
Bottom Up Transformation agenda, he meant it.
Ruto noted that he knew it was not going to be an easy job, but
it is the only way Kenya will be transformed.
He added that he is proud to be part of the leadership of
Kenya at a time when the leadership is making difficult but transformative
decisions for the best interest of the country.
“When we said bottom up transformation, we meant it. We knew
it was not going to be easy, but we have made the choices and the results are
there for everyone to see. This is going to be how we transform our nation, and
I am very proud to be part of the leadership that is making decisions, seeing
the transformation of our nation.
“I want to encourage us to believe in our country because if
we don’t, we will let down our country,” the President said.
Ruto further stated that he is certain nothing will stop the
ongoing transformation.
“Nothing, by the grace of God, is going to stop us from achieving
the transformation of Kenya,” he added.
