Celebrated Kikuyu Mugithi star and police officer Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, has left fans and netizens deeply concerned after sharing a cryptic post on social media.

The musician then swiftly deleted the message on Facebook that hinted at fears for his life.

In the now-deleted post came just hours before he penned a heartfelt birthday message to his ex-wife, Edday Nderitu. But it’s the eerie tone of his earlier update that has unsettled many.

“In case I die unexpectedly, or before my time, I want you to know that I’ve lived a full and good life,” it read in part. “Allah gave me an opportunity to travel the world, see nature at its best, meet incredible humans I was fortunate enough to share a moment with.”

Though he later pulled the post down, the damage was done. Screenshots began circulating widely, sparking an outpouring of worry across social media platforms.

The cryptic message came shortly after Samidoh went viral for leading a crowd in a defiant anti-government chant, “Wantam,” a phrase coined by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, meaning “one term.”

Wantam, which has popularly become an anti-regime, was aimed squarely at the current administration, and the musician did not hold back in his public performance.

Known for his blunt lyrical style, Samidoh has increasingly used his platform to criticise the government, often to resounding cheers from his audience.

Allegations have surfaced online claiming unmarked vehicles were spotted near his home, with some suggesting the artist saw them via his phone’s CCTV app, an app that reportedly also captures audio.

You remember when Samidoh sang this a few days ago akisema WANTAM. The cowardly government sent sleuths at his gate with unmarked cars?

He saw them via CCTV app on his phone.

And even worse for them, his CCTV captures sound.

“It seems someone is threatening Benga artist Samidoh and his brother,” one user posted on X (formerly Twitter), while another simply asked, “Is everything okay with Samidoh?”

Meanwhile, comments on his YouTube channel have been a mix of concern and caution. “Kindly, use your talent well, my son. Honestly,” one viewer urged.

The situation has reopened an old debate about Samidoh’s delicate balancing act between his roles as a law enforcement officer and a politically expressive artist.

His haunting final words in the deleted post continue to echo online: “If you ever miss me, look at the stars. I will be there shining brightly, reminding you to live your life with passion, chase your dreams and cherish the people around you. Also, remember to tell my mama I did my best!”
