What began as a routine appearance by Karangu Muraya quickly turned chaotic after an angry crowd confronted him in broad daylight.
Karangu was heckled and chased by irate locals, an incident many are linking to his recent visit to the State House.
The incident, which has since gone viral, comes shortly after the musician visits with other entertainers at State House, a move that appears to have enraged a section of his fanbase and the local community.
In the widely shared footage, Karangu is seen wearing a white shirt with black polka dots and dark blue trousers as he walks uneasily towards a police Land Cruiser.
Behind him, a growing crowd was heard jeering, shouting, and pointing fingers at the visibly tense artist.

Angry residents, many recording the dramatic moment with their smartphones, while others shouted unprintable remarks.
Police officers intervened quickly, opening the car door to help Karang board their vehicle. Despite their efforts, the crowd continued chanting angrily, with many shouting “Wantam!, a chant associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Wantam is a corruption of one term.
Tension escalated as more people surrounded the police Land Cruiser, and as the vehicle attempted to drive away, the crowd clung onto it, while a few managed to open its back compartment.
Amid the chaos, a sack believed to contain packets of flour was pulled from the car, sparking a scramble.
As the vehicle sped off, those hanging on dropped off, and the remaining crowd descended on the sack, tearing it open. Some managed to grab packets, while others fought for the spilled flour scattered across the road.
The video stirred mixed reactions across social media platforms. One user, Olive, lamented, “Khaii Karangu, rudi kwa kanisa achana na siasa. Utaacha familia yako juu ya ujinga kiino giki.”
Another, Evans Ondari, posed, “Yaani, supporting the government is a crime?” Isn’t Kenya a democratic republic?”
