Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Headquarters/Handout

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened the portal to allow applications for the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) September 2025 intake.

Those interested in preservice courses have been directed to
apply through the KUCCPS portal at https://students.kuccps.net/programmes/search-kmtc/

Students interested in higher diplomas, upgrading diplomas and short courses have been advised to apply through the KMTC portal at https://admissions.kmtc.ac.ke/login

Applications are ongoing, starting from June 23 to June 7,
2025.

Last week, the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) opened the application window for students at KMTC, offering financial support to cover tuition and related costs.

The move follows a partnership between HELB and KMTC aimed at easing the financial burden on students pursuing certificate and diploma courses at the institution.

In a statement, HELB said the application process is open to both new and continuing students.

“All students applying must follow the outlined steps
carefully to ensure a successful application,” KMTC stated.

To that effect, the government released Sh500 million to support the learners.

The funds released by the National Treasury to support financially disadvantaged learners will be channeled through the HELB.

The allocation, captured in the April 2025 Supplementary
Budget, is expected to ease the financial burden many students have faced in
recent months and safeguard their ability to continue with medical training
uninterrupted.

KMTC Chief Executive Officer Dr Kelly Oluoch on Wednesday
confirmed the disbursement.

“The HELB portal is now open, and students interested in
applying for the financial support can do so starting today. The application
window will remain open until June 24, 2025,” Oluoch said.

To apply for the loan, students should navigate to the HELB
menu in the portal, select the Loan application tab and choose the KMTC Student
Financing Scheme.

They must read and accept the data collection consent form
and the loan terms and conditions. After that, the student must provide their
guarantor’s details.

With all the necessary information in place, students can
submit their loan application.

A PDF version of the completed application will be emailed
to the applicant.

“After submission, students can monitor the progress of
their application using their HELB student portal,” KMTC noted.

Students who have previously received a loan from HELB and
are applying for the second or subsequent time must follow a slightly different
procedure.
