Tanzanian music star Juma Jux has dismissed reports suggesting he took out a Sh25 million (Tsh500 million) loan to finance his lavish wedding celebrations.

The singer, best known for hits such as Sugua and Enjoy, recently held a multi-day wedding that drew widespread attention for its opulence, leaving fans both dazzled and speculative about the event’s financial background.

Rumours circulated on social media claiming that Jux borrowed a hefty sum to cover the high-end festivities.

However, in an interview with Wasafi FM, Jux firmly denied the allegations, insisting the event was fully funded through personal savings and sponsorships.

“There is no truth at all to those rumours,” Jux said. “I did not take any loan. People should stop spreading lies. I have worked hard for years, and I planned for this wedding. I also have partners who came in to support parts of the event.”

The singer further emphasized his financial independence, noting that he runs multiple businesses and has maintained a disciplined approach to money.

The wedding, which featured luxury décor, designer outfits, multiple receptions, and appearances by local celebrities, quickly went viral online, further fueling speculation about its cost.

Jux reiterated that careful planning and years of hard work enabled him to host the grand celebration without accruing debt.

“This was a celebration of love, and I wanted to do it in a way that reflects that,” he said. “I am grateful for the blessings in my life and did not need to borrow to make this happen.”

While many fans have congratulated Jux on his new chapter, others continue to debate the growing extravagance of celebrity weddings in Tanzania.
