Prominent city lawyer and political advisor Silas Jakakimba has announced his separation from his spouse, Florence Adhiambo, in a statement shared on social media.

In an X post, Jakakimba said the decision was arrived at mutually, with support from close family and spiritual leaders.

“After careful consideration and much reflection, we – Silas Jakakimba and Florence Adhiambo – have made the difficult but in certain and often times extremely considerate decision to separate,” read part of the post.

“This decision was reached mutually and, with respect for one another, noting with deep appreciation and gratitude, the immense love and support from both sides of our Innermost Families and Spiritual Leaders as we sought to make this decision public.”

The couple also asked for privacy as they go through the transition and stated that they would not be making further comments on the matter.

“We remain fully committed to maintaining the privacy and well-being of our Family during this transition. We ask that our privacy be respected as we navigate this personal matter, we will not be making any further public statements whatsoever regarding this matter at this or at any other time,” he said.

Jakakimba and Adhiambo tied the not in a lavish wedding ceremony at Safari Park in 2021.

The invite-only event took place in an exclusive garden, with friends and family members witnessing it.

The flashy event at the time got Kenyans talking after the bride made a grand entrance in a chopper.

Jakakimba, a known figure in legal and political circles, previously served as a long-time aide to ODM leader Raila Odinga and has been vocal on national and legal issues.

He is also reportedly aspiring to run for the Member of Parliament seat in Suba North in the 2027 elections.

His announcement of the separation comes as a surprise to many of his followers, as he has largely kept his private life away from the limelight.
