A viral video circulating on social media allegedly shows Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, in an intimate embrace.
The viral video captured in the “kiss cam”, as the crowd watched the big screen, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin playfully called out, “Oh, look at these two,” just as Byron, with his arms around Cabot, quickly pulled away.
Cabot immediately covered her face while Byron crouched down awkwardly, attempting to duck out of view.
The frontman added, “Oh, what… either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” fueling speculation and triggering a storm of online commentary.

Byron, who has led Astronomer since 2023, released an official statement on July 17, acknowledging the situation and the damage it may have caused both personally and professionally.
“What was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage,” Byron wrote in the statement, which has since been shared widely online.
“I want to sincerely apologize to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer. You deserve better from me as a partner, as a father, and as a leader,” the statement read in part.
He added that the incident does not reflect who he is or how he wants to represent the company he helped build.
While expressing regret, Byron also criticized how a private moment became viral content without his consent.
“I respect artists and entertainers, but I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone else’s life into a spectacle,” he said, calling the experience “troubling.”
In a final emotional note, he closed his statement with a Coldplay lyric: “Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you.”
As of now, neither Byron nor Cabot has addressed the cheating allegations directly, but the clip and the fallout continues to circulate.
