Wanja Nyarari has urged the crew of Mood, a newly launched matatu linked to President William Ruto’s son, George, to uphold road discipline.

Nyarari’s appeal comes days after the flashy matatu was unveiled, drawing attention and speculation over George’s financial capacity to acquire the flashy vehicle.

In a strongly worded message posted on her social media pages, Nyarari addressed the matatu drivers directly, urging them to represent George’s brand with honour and responsibility.

“You’re now custodians of his name, his brand, and his vision,” she stated. “Follow traffic rules, respect other motorists, obey police officers, and drive with dignity and discipline.”

She went further, cautioning the team against distractions and external influences that could derail the project’s intent.

“Do not allow the devil to use your hands to destroy someone else’s dream,” she warned.

George Ruto officially launched Mood last week, a vibrantly customised matatu that instantly grabbed the spotlight on Nairobi’s roads.

However, the matatu’s debut also sparked online conversations, with many Kenyans questioning how a jobless youth managed to afford such an investment.

In response to the speculation, Wanja shared a detailed post praising George and defending his integrity.

“Let me take this moment to congratulate Captain George Ruto on the launch of his new Matatu, MOOD, a vibrant and bold addition to Nairobi’s public transport culture,” she wrote.

“It’s youthful, expressive and daring—just like him and the Gen Zs.”

Wanja, who revealed she once worked with George in the aviation sector, vouched for his quiet resilience and character.
“I have seen his passion for flying, his love for football, and his quiet strength. He doesn’t make noise; he moves with purpose,” she shared.

She also disclosed that earlier this year, she had advertised job opportunities in Dubai through her platform. George, she claimed, had privately stepped in to sponsor 30 youths who responded to the call.

“George personally reached out to support his people, not for show, not for PR. He paid for passports, visas, police clearances, and air tickets in full,” she revealed.

According to Wanja, George even flew with the group to ensure their safety and transition.

“He didn’t want publicity. He just wanted impact.”
