Mugithi star Samuel Muchoki Ndirangu, better known as Samidoh, brought Karatina to life on Saturday night as he performed at Derby Place and Spar during the club’s second anniversary celebrations.

The celebrated singer, who also serves as a police officer, took to the stage to the roar of an eager crowd that had been waiting hours for his performance.

The event marked his second live appearance since returning from a months-long musical tour of the United States, where he entertained Kenyan fans across various states.

Dressed in his signature jeans, cowboy boots, and hat, Samidoh delivered an electrifying set, blending old favourites with newer releases.

Fans sang along to every lyric, with the dance floor packed throughout the night.

The intimate setting of Derby Place allowed the audience to feel a close connection with the star, who frequently stepped to the edge of the stage to interact with his supporters.

Speaking briefly between songs, Samidoh thanked his fans for their unwavering support during his time abroad and promised more music and performances in the months to come.“It feels good to be back home performing for my people,” he said, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.

Derby Place management told the  that hosting Samidoh for their second anniversary was a milestone event, adding that it underscored the club’s growing reputation as a top entertainment venue in Nyeri County.

The night also featured curtain-raising acts by local artistes, who set the mood before the Mugithi maestro took over.

As the final song played and the lights dimmed, it was clear that Samidoh’s homecoming shows remain one of the biggest attractions on Kenya’s live music scene.
