The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted November 27 as the date for by-elections for 23 constituencies that have been without representatives for more than one year. This move has now set stage for a political showdown between President William Ruto, former Deputy Rigathi Gachagua and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The gazettement of the by-elections, by IEBC chairperson, Erastus Ethekon has been scheduled in two batches, with the first batch being gazetted yesterday, while the next batch has been scheduled to be gazetted tomorrow.
