Colombian superstar Maluma brought his Mexico City show to an unexpected halt over the weekend after calling out a mother in the crowd for bringing her baby to the high-decibel spectacle without any ear protection.

The incident went down during the final leg of his +Pretty +Dirty World Tour,” which wraps up on August 16.

In fan-shot footage shared on X, the 31-year-old hitmaker spotted the young child in the audience and stopped mid-performance to address the situation.

“With all due respect… how old are they?” Maluma asked in Spanish, peering into the crowd.

“A year old? Less? A year.”

Maluma stops his concert in Mexico City to scold a mother who brought her 1-year-old baby without ear protection:

“That is an act of irresponsibility. And you’re swinging him around as if he were a toy. That child doesn’t want to be there.” pic.twitter.com/ptxpcuuHzw

Then, in a tone that was part concerned dad, part exasperated performer, he continued: “Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f—— high? That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here. Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility.”

Maluma, whose real name is Juan Luis Londoño Arias, did not hold back even pointing out that the mom was “waving them around like a toy” and insisting that “the baby doesn’t want to be there, for real.”

The Grammy-winning singer, now a father himself, closed his impromptu PSA with a heartfelt plea: “I’m telling you with all love and respect… I would never bring my own child to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.”

With over 18 million records sold and mega-collaborations with the likes of Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, and Ricky Martin, Maluma is no stranger to commanding the spotlight, but this weekend, it was his fatherly instinct that took center stage.
