With the Harambee currently flying the Kenyan flag high at the CHAN tournament, The Permanent Presidential Music Commission (PPMC) has released special project rallying Kenyans behind the National Team.

PPMC which is a government department whose mandate is to coordinate music and dance activities in the country, has been posting a number of “youthful” songs which it says will help galvanise and boost morale not just to the players, but the 12th man in the stand.

“These are not new songs, but recorded by our artistes for the national holiday celebrations invoking the spirit of patriotism. Some of the songs were never released and others did not receive the attention, so we put up the project and so far people are liking it,” a representative of PPMC told TNX.

“Congrats to the superb performances in the last three games,” Donald Otoyo, the commissions director posted on his socials alongside the songs.

A number of artistes have been sending their congratulatory messages and rallying call as the national team continues to delight football fanatics with its conquests.

Some of the artiste highlighted include Iyani, Dufla, Tri Mio, Zerro Sufuri , Nazizi, Wyre, Johnnny Skani among others.

“As artistes, we carry the voice of the people. Supporting Harambee Stars through music is not just about hype, it’s about patriotism, unity, and pride. When we sing for our team, we remind Kenyans that we are stronger together.” Dufla told TNX via phone.

He praised the recent initiative that saw the release patriotic songs in support of the national team and recently shared a clip on his Instagram of DJ Levin Nyaxx playing his latest release featuring Iyani during Kenya’s match against Morocco, where Harambee Stars won by a single goal.

“Seeing artistes from different genres together for this cause is powerful. It shows the team that the whole country streets to stage is behind them.”
