Moja Expressway has dismissed as fake a poster circulating on social media claiming the Expressway would be closed today, ahead of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s return.

“MOJA Expressway Company is not affiliated to, neither does it authorize the closure of the Nairobi Expressway due to political processions,” the operator said in a statement on Thursday.

The company stressed that the expressway remains a public road, and any official notices on closures are shared only through its verified platforms.

A poster made rounds online alleging that the Expressway would be closed at the Central Business District (CBD) access point during political processions tied to Gachagua’s return.

Gachagua is expected to land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Thursday afternoon, after cutting short a two-month tour of the United States.

The early return follows a gazette notice by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) scheduling by-elections for November 27 to fill contested seats.

He is expected to lead a procession from the airport to Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi, where he plans to address a rally.
