Kenyan rap star Khaligraph Jones is looking to buy back his a red Subaru Forester he owned in the past.
The rapper revealed his intentions after being inspired by American hip-hop legend Rick Ross, who recently reflected on the old BMW featured in his 2006 breakout single ‘Hustlin’.
Despite owning hundreds of luxury cars, Ross still keeps the BMW in his garage as a reminder of his early days. The video for Hustlin’ has since amassed more than 145 million views on YouTube.
Sharing the clip on his Instagram stories, Khaligraph asked:
“Wanna buy my old whips back now, who has my Subaru Forester?”
He followed it up with another post showing the car in its signature red color, recalling how it stood out at the time.
“2015 hii ilisumbua, nani akona hii gari sai,” he wrote.
Khaligraph first put the car up for sale in 2017, telling fans he was letting it go to the highest bidder as he upgraded his collection.
He described it then as a car that had served him well during his career rise.
A while back, during an interview, the OG as he fancies himself stated that while he loves cars and is seen often flossing them online, it’s all for business.
“Yes its true I love cars but people should also know that I am into the car business. So sometimes the cars I am seen flaunting are meant for business.
The move puts Khaligraph in the company of several global stars who have repurchased their former rides for sentimental reasons.
Rowan Atkinson, famously known as Mr. Bean, once bought back his rare McLaren F1 after selling it, while Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond tracked down and reclaimed his old Jaguar XJR years after parting ways with it.
