Zuchu, former Sauti Sol member Savara, and BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo from Uganda are set to electrify the stage at the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2025) Finals closing ceremony on Saturday, August 30, at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.

The trio will headline the much-anticipated event, blending Tanzanian, Kenyan, and Ugandan talent on one of Africa’s biggest football stages.

Zuchu made the announcement on her social media, sharing her excitement with her fans, “I’m so thrilled to announce that I will be headlining The African Nation Champion Finals this year #CHAN2025 happening in Nairobi, Kenya.”

Her post quickly went viral, gathering a lot of likes and a flood of reactions from fans across the region.

But while Zuchu’s slot sparked celebration, it also stirred controversy. On X (formerly Twitter), some Kenyan fans argued that the closing ceremony should have given more spotlight to local stars.

One user insisted: “Zuchu should be replaced with Tanasha Donna,” while another remarked: “Tunataka Bien buana.”

These comments reflected a section of Kenyans who feel overlooked at such a grand event hosted on home soil.

Still, Zuchu’s supporters drowned out the criticism with waves of love and pride. Her husbannd Diamond Platnumz wrote, “THIS IS BIG! Am super proud of you Babe.”

Fellow Tanzanian stars also chimed in, with Acclaim TZ hailing her “Queen ” and Adella Tillya cheering, “Go Beibeeeee ?? .” Fans filled the comments section with fire, crown, and heart emojis, with one writing: “This is Great Queen @officialzuchu. Go sis, gooo make the stage.”

Meanwhile, the inclusion of Savara, one of Kenya’s most celebrated performers, reassured many locals who see him as the perfect act to represent Kenyan talent on home ground.

Equally, Eddy Kenzo’s participation is being celebrated by Ugandan fans as a proud moment, with the BET Award winner set to bring his unique energy to the continental stage.

The mix of reactions highlights just how symbolic the CHAN Finals have become not just as a football event, but also as a platform for East African cultural pride.

Whether loved or criticised, when the lights shine on Kasarani, Zuchu, Savara, and Eddy Kenzo will unite the region through music, delivering a show fans will remember long after the final whistle.
