Popular content creator Eve Mungai has strongly refuted viral claims suggesting she regrets parting ways with Director Trevor and has been battling depression since their split.
The YouTuber took to social media to address what she called “very fake news” after a fabricated quote attributed to her went viral online.
The fake post, styled as a news headline and widely shared across social platforms, allegedly quoted Mungai as saying:
“I regret kuachana na Trevor. Wale mlokuwa mnanichocha niachane na Trevor mko wapi sasa? When I left, Kenyans online were busy cheering: ‘Go girl! You’re the next big thing. Trevor will learn. Gals for gals!’ But the truth is, hapa online watu watakuchocha uache mwanaume, uache job, ufunge biashara promising endless support. When reality hits, uko peke yako.”
The fabricated screenshot painted a picture of remorse and loneliness, suggesting the content creator was second-guessing her decision to end the relationship.
Responding swiftly to the rumors, Eve wrote: “Hii story ilitoka wapi? This is very fake news I haven’t made such a comment…. I am shocked.”
Her clarification quickly gained traction as fans flooded her comment section.
Some expressed relief at her response, while others criticized the spread of misinformation targeting public figures.
Many observers noted that circulating fabricated quotes has become a common tactic to create unnecessary drama around celebrities.
The breakup between Eve Mungai and Director Trevor earlier this year was one of the most talked-about celebrity splits in Kenya’s digital content space.
Since their separation, both have been pursuing individual projects successfully.
Trevor has recently focused on event promotions and media production, while Eve has continued building her personal brand.
Despite their professional separation, both remain influential figures in Kenya’s content creation industry.
