Popular Guyanese social media influencer and upcoming rapper, Lola Doll, is fighting for her life after being shot several times by an unknown gunman on September 6.

The 33-year-old, whose real name is Lolita Callender, was attacked while seated in her car outside her home in East Ruimveldt, Georgetown. According to authorities, the assailant, a male suspect, fled the scene on a motorcycle after opening fire.

Lola Doll sustained serious gunshot wounds to her neck, face, right leg, and hands. She was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where she remains under close medical attention.

Guyana police confirmed that a full investigation has been launched, with officers combing through CCTV footage from the area. “Police ranks are actively pursuing the suspect, and CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed as part of the investigation,” the agency said in a statement shared with The People.

On September 7, police issued a wanted notice for a man linked to the shooting, identifying him as a suspect in an attempted murder case.

Lola Doll’s brother, speaking to Stabroek News, described the horrifying moment he heard the gunshots outside their home.

“I was inside at home when I hear gunshots and run out to see was what, only to see me sister lying in she car and blood, if you see blood, pouring out. We rushed her here… She lost a lot of blood but she is a fighter,” he recalled emotionally.

Family members said they did not see the shooter, as their focus was on getting her immediate medical help. Friends and relatives have since gathered at the hospital, rallying around the influencer as she battles to recover.

Lola Doll is known for her songs Cement Body, Before Yuh Succeed, and How Yuh Do It. Fans flooded her social media pages with messages of hope and prayers for healing.

One fan, Jourdine Pauline, wrote, “Praying soooo hard for yuh!!!! May God pull you through and heal you inside and out!!!! Claiming victory over your life.” Another added, “Quick recovery Queen. I hope the shooter will be found and arrested.”

Police investigations are ongoing as the influencer’s family and fans await justice.
