Bien wins hearts after feeding, performing for street children in Meru

Award-winning Kenyan artiste Bien Aime Baraza has captured the admiration of fans online after a heartwarming gesture in Meru County where he fed and performed for street children.

In a viral video shared widely on social media, the Safari hitmaker was seen alongside Meru singer Jaysoul as they interacted with children and residents in an undisclosed location in Meru.

Bien, dressed in all black, and Jaysoul, in a patterned shirt and black shorts, drew excitement from a small crowd that included young men, women, and children.

The group sang along to Bien’s popular song Nairobi featuring Tanzanian star Marioo, with the artiste joining in the dance.

Jaysoul also hyped up the moment, urging the crowd to sing along, while Bien carried a toddler from the audience during the performance.

The singer, who is also known for Alusa Why Are You Topless, did not leave the residents empty-handed.

In a separate clip, he appeared with his wife, dancer and media personality Chiki Kuruka, distributing boxes of biscuits and what appeared to be other gifts.

The act of kindness drew praise across social media, with many Kenyans commending Bien for his humility despite his superstar status.

Instagram user Jaber Nyarkano wrote: “Bien ameblend nao na hizo nguo, huwezijua ni yeye, such a humble man.” Another fan, Scrapie Kid, added: “Bien hana kiburi…kama anatambua streets…streets zinamkubali. Ni aura mtu wangu.”

The Extra Pressure singer is currently on his Alusa Continua World Tour, which kicked off on August 2.

So far, he has staged shows in Arusha, Dar es Salaam, and Mwanza in Tanzania, as well as Eldoret and Meru in Kenya.

The tour is set to conclude with a final performance at Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi on September 20.

Bien, a former member of celebrated group Sauti Sol, has been enjoying massive success in his solo career, bagging accolades and pulling large crowds across East Africa.

Fans said his actions in Meru proved he is not only a star on stage but also an artiste grounded in compassion.
