Beneath the Baobabs Festival has announced the first wave of its 2025 lineup, setting the stage for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve on the coast.

What began as a small gathering along Kilifi Creek has grown into Kenya’s leading alternative music festival, drawing thousands from across Africa and beyond.

This year, the festival continues to evolve with new sounds, new faces, and global collaborations.

Headlining the first lineup drop is Vigro Deep, delivering a 2-hour Amapiano live set, alongside GQOM pioneer DJ LAG. Alewya, the Ethiopian-Egyptian-British artiste, makes her Kenyan debut with a genre-blending performance, while South Africa’s Muzi brings his fresh take on modern Kwaito.

From New York, Musclecars join the lineup with their soulful house grooves.

Representing Kenya’s vibrant scene are Ghedi, Tina Ardor, Mura, and Lil Maina, ensuring the Baobabs’ stages pulse with Afro-House, Arbantone, and everything in between.

In an exciting move, Beneath the Baobabs has partnered with the iconic Outlook Festival, renowned for its Global Bass sound and community of underground tastemakers.

Expect a massive Outlook takeover featuring both international and Kenyan pioneers of bass culture; cementing Kilifi as a global hub for musical exchange.

Now over a decade strong, Beneath the Baobabs remains a cultural beacon celebrating diversity, creativity, and the evolving sound of Africa.
