Xpose, an event and audiovisual service provider, has acquired an audio mixer valued at Sh19.3m aimed at raising the standard for live sound delivery in Kenya and improve the sound experience for concertgoers.

The new equipment, a DiGiCo Quantum 338, is among the most advanced digital sound consoles globally.

It has been used on international tours by artists such as Beyoncé, Coldplay, and Burna Boy.

Its arrival in Kenya marks a significant milestone for local sound engineering, long plagued by substandard audio quality at major live events.

For years, concertgoers have voiced frustrations over distorted sound, overpowering bass, and delayed performances, issues that have marred even high-profile shows.

To mark the mixer’s unveiling, Xpose hosted a four-day masterclass at the International Christian Centre (ICC), led by globally acclaimed sound engineers Jason “Redz”
Reynolds, Anthony Torres, Veer Dhaniram, and Brandon Blackwell professionals who have worked with the likes of Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Shaggy, and Stephen Marley.

The sessions trained and mentored local sound engineers, providing both technical skills and hands-on experience with the Quantum 338.

Max Mwululu, Xpose’s Chief technical Officer, said the investment represents more than just an upgrade in equipment.

“Kenya has talented artists and passionate fans, but we’ve consistently struggled with sound quality. This initiative ensures our performances meet global standards. By investing in the Quantum 338 and facilitating international knowledge exchange, we’re transforming how Kenyans experience live music,” he said.

According to Reynolds, the DiGiCo Quantum 338 also eases the burden on touring artists who previously had to ship their own sound systems to Kenya.

“From a logistical point of view, this equipment is a game changer. Artists will now be more encouraged to perform in Kenya and the region,” he noted.

The unveiling comes at a time when Kenya’s live entertainment industry is expanding rapidly, creating a demand for skilled professionals and reliable technical infrastructure.

Participants who completed the training received certification, positioning them to deliver higher-quality sound production for future concerts.
