Drama as the Burkinabe Government suddenly cancelled the “King of Squats” show, citing preoccupation with other “bigger priorities”.

The fitness maestro was schedule to convene his show in Burkina Faso on 8th November this year only for the Government to shut it down.

According to ZiMetro News: “…the state is presently concentrating its focus and resources on issues it deems more important for the people…”

The authorities further clarified that their decision was not due to any conflict with the self-proclaimed fitness enthusiast, Mr Nkululeko, instead, the decision was a necessary move that aligned with the national agenda a midst security challenges, economic instability and social development the country is currently grappling with.

The announcement of the tour’s cancellation has since sparked mixed reactions among citizens and fans who took to various online platforms to air their views, one X user @Kudakwashe2424, commented:’’..That’s leadership, we are Africans and we should carry African morals,..they should be our priorities..”

Another user @Kane_GM9 lamented:’’..No South African in the comments is upset because we don’t care what people do in their countries, but let the tables turn…the whole continent will be calling us xenophobic because they all wanna come here..”.

The event’s purpose was to promote health and wellness as it was expected to draw large participants both from local and international spheres.

Nkululeko Dlamini popularly known as the “King of Squats”, is a 40-year-old former South African football player and a self-proclaimed fitness instructor who is popularly recognised for his curvy stature.

The planned Burkina Faso tour was Mr Dlamini’s broader initiative to host fitness workshops and training across Africa as he is a prominent figure in the fitness community specializing in strength training.

The fitness guru has previously held successful similar events in other different African countries like Ghana and Kenya.

During his last visit in Kenya in September this year, Mr Dlamini was asked whether his backside was natural or “cosmetically enhanced” to which he refuted the rumors and attributed his curvaceous rear-end to diligent effort and genetic makeup.
