Former Kenyan presidential candidate Mohammed Abduba Dida has resurfaced in the public eye, but not in the political arena where he first made his name.
Instead, Dida has reinvented himself, launching the Dida Global Network where he now shares messages of unity, spirituality, and personal transformation.
Now back online and speaking to his followers through fresh social media accounts, Dida has positioned his new platform as a global spiritual outreach initiative.
In a recent message addressed directly to Kenyans, he urged the country to look beyond political and social divides.
“Dear Kenyans, I want to specifically take this opportunity to speak to you. God has created us to be His representatives on this earth. We have a big, big responsibility. There are over eight billion human beings who need spiritual nourishment, who need advice, who need awakening,” he said.
He appealed to Kenyans to rise above tribe and religion and embrace a broader, global mission.

“That is something that cannot be done by one person. I request you to rise above tribe and religion. Think of the world. Join me — I have a lot to share with you, and we have a lot to share with the world.”
Dida’s return comes months after his release from the Big Muddy Correctional Centre in Illinois, where he was serving a 7-year sentence for stalking, transmitting threats, aggravated stalking, and violating a restraining order.
He was paroled on April 3, 2025, and will serve the remainder of his sentence outside prison until his official release date on April 3, 2029.
Dida, born in 1975 in Wajir County and is widely known in Kenya for his candid, humorous approach during his presidential campaigns.
A former teacher, he relocated to the U.S. in 2019 to pursue further studies and later married an American citizen.
However, according to reports, the marriage became strained over time due to ongoing personal differences.
In 2021, the conflict escalated when Dida’s wife sought a restraining order against him, alleging threatening behaviour and stalking.
A U.S. court granted the order after she claimed he had been harassing her.
The matter intensified shortly afterwards when Dida was accused of violating the restraining order by visiting a mosque near their home, an area reportedly included within the restricted zone.
Sources indicate that Dida was unaware that the location fell inside the boundaries outlined in the court order.
