Muthoni endured the challenge, completing the record at 12:25 pm, securing her place in history.
She had previously set a 48-hour record earlier this year at Nairobi’s Michuki Memorial Park, dramatically exceeding the old world record of 24 hours and 21 minutes.
Part of her 72-hour challenge included wearing a blindfold, highlighting the risks climate change poses to people with sight loss.
While the achievement was historic, the post-record celebrations turned chaotic.
Hundreds surrounded her, making it impossible for anyone to see the moment she let go of the tree.
